INCREASING OF STUDENT LEARNING OUTCOME THROUGH COOPERATIVE LEARNING A STUDENT TEAM ACHIEVEMENTS DIVISIONS TYPE

This study aims to analyze the implementation of cooperative learning model type Student Team Achievements Divisions (STAD) that can improve student learning outcomes in learning mathematics class VIII-3 SMP Negeri 3 Pantai Labu. This research is a classroom action research (PTK) which is carried out collaboratively between researchers with peers as observers. Data collection is done by observation and test. Data analysis was done by using qualitative descriptive analysis. The sequence of research activities includes: (1) planning, (2) implementation, (3) observation, (4) reflection. The results showed that STAD type cooperative learning can improve student learning outcomes. This can be seen from the percentage of classical mastery at the condition of cycle I 46,15%, and in cycle II equal to 86,38% or increase equal to 40,23%. From the results of this study can be concluded that STAD type cooperative learning can improve student learning outcomes on the material area and the volume of cubes and beams in class VIII-3 SMP Negeri 3 Pantai Labu Teaching Year 2015/2016.
